Finito is a special treat indeed - Malabrigo seeks out the absolute finest Uruguayan merino that they can buy. The individual fibers are nearly as fine as cashmere, and the finished 3 ply fingering weight yarn has a downy halo of absolute luxury- truly a joy to knit and wear! Malabrigo Finito is pleasingly soft and works up in a fine project with good stitch definition.

A note on working with hand-dyed yarn:

Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since dye lots differ, and skeins may vary from lot to the next. The skeins may vary one from the other even within the same bag. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball. A note on washing your Finito knit wear:

Any lacey item should be hand washed. Any hand dyed item comes out of the wash if you add mordant to the wash water. A little salt or vinegar or even citric acid should do the trick. Especially with lace items, be sure to lay flat to dry. If you put this yarn in the washer and dyer, it will felt and all you work with be gone, so be careful with your lace.

Needle Recommendations:

The needle size that is best for giving nice stitch definition is a US 2 - 4. However, this yarn also knits up beautifully with a larger needle. The larger the needle size gives you lace more drape but be sure to do a swatch before you start your project.
