Euroflax Linen Yarn is a beautiful and versatile yarn made from flax fiber.

  1. Material: Euroflax is a wet-spun, long line linen yarn crafted from flax fiber. The term “long line” refers to the fact that the flax plant grows more than a yard tall. When standing in the field, it’s a sight to behold with bright blue flowers waving in the wind. At harvest time, the flax is cut and laid out to dry. The linen fiber is found inside the long stems of the flax plant.

  2. Quality and Beauty: Unlike many other linen yarns made from shorter or cut flax fibers (known as tow linen), Euroflax is a true long-line linen. This difference shows in the quality and beauty of fabrics created with Euroflax. The yarn absorbs color beautifully and is both durable and non-allergenic.

  3. Durability: Euroflax Linen Yarn is known for its extreme durability. You can machine wash and dry items made with this yarn repeatedly, and they’ll only get softer and nicer over time.

  4. Weaving Tips: If you’re weaving with Euroflax, dampen the warp with water for neat selvages. Dampening also helps rigid heddle weavers achieve a tighter fabric. Soften the weft yarn by dampening your fingers when winding bobbins. For crisp table linens, remove the fabric from the dryer while still damp and steam press to enhance luster.

  5. Specifications:

    • Weight: Sport weight (14/4)
    • Physical Weight: 100 g skein
    • Approximate Yardage: 270yds/246m (1300 yards per pound)
    • Sett (for weaving): 12 - 15 ends per inch (epi)
    • Country of Origin: Belgium

Remember that linen feels stiff until it’s “worked.” The more you wind, twist, wash, and dry it, the softer it becomes. Hand-wound balls are recommended. And don’t worry if you see fuzz in your lint trap during the first few washings—it’s normal!

Whether you’re knitting, weaving, or creating other textile projects, Euroflax Linen Yarn is a fantastic choice.
